TISD Student Shout Outs:

If you are not able to keep up with us on Facebook, I would hate for you to miss out on all the celebrations! I can’t possibly capture them all in my Blog that comes out every two weeks, but let me give you a glimpse of just a sliver of the excellence here in TISD:

One Act Play:

One Act Play competed in the Georgetown High School One Act Play Festival (Practice competition) and had the following accomplishments:

ALL-STAR CAST

  • Hannah Alexander

  • Juan Acosta

HONORABLE MENTION ALL-STAR CAST

  • Addyson Bland

  • Cashiana Noack

ALL-STAR TECHNICIAN

  • Everton White

They traveled to Temple just before spring break to compete again.

Art Students Advance at to STATE at VASE Competition:

11 metals were brought home from VASE on Saturday! 3 students will be advancing to state! Hannah Alexander Gaven Lanahan and Kyla Daniell Please congratulate all students who participated! They did amazing! Everyone was very impressed with the Thorndale High School artwork!

Baseball & Softball:

Both teams are off to a strong start with big wins vs. Bartlett the week of March 5th.

Powerlifting:

The girls competed in regionals and had tremendous success:

  • Jordyn Stutts - Regional Champion

  • Cece Sandoval - 4th place

  • Belle Roberson - 9th place (not pictured)

 

Boys traveled to regionals the week of March 5th.

Golf: 

On March 4th & 5th the teams took home 3rd at the Cameron Tournament. 

Track & Field: 

Track is Off to the Races: Bethany finished 4th at the Bluebonnet Invitational and broke the school record in the discuss with a throw of 129’-8”

 

Our Ag/FFA Students are Representing Well:

Congratulations Grace, Hestin, Riley, and Layne for placing 5th out of over 200 teams and to Hestin Ellington for placing 4th individually out of over 700 FFA members!!!!


Riley Clinard had a great time at the Texas Elite Showcase!

  • 3rd Overall Light Cross and Champion Lightweight

  • 2nd place Spot

  • Overall Champion Yorkshire

Middle School Celebrations:

6th-grade science students applied what they have learned about net force to a good old-fashioned game of tug-of-war.  It was a beautiful day to be outside!

7th graders used Skittles to build a model that represents the chemical equation of photosynthesis.

Elementary School Celebrations:

National Reading Month is even better with Bella:

Students learn about feelings, emotions, and one another during the class sessions with their elementary counselor:

Staff Celebrations:

Since our last blog we celebrated Maintenance Appreciation Day. We could NOT keep this district functioning without the amazing Russell Ellington and Jace Robinson. Please thank them when you see them.

I know you have all heard this one, but I couldn’t leave it off the list. The famous, Abby Jones, HEB Excellence Finalist Recipient.
